Van Straten is a Still Life, Fashion, Food & Beverage Photographer born in Florence. At the age of 20, driven by an innate desire for adventure and, above all, by the unwillingness to finish his studies in architecture, moved to Milan to devote himself to something he really loved, Photography.
After four years of photography school, he left for New York, first working as an assistant for an established despotic photographer and then on his own, shooting for several fashion magazines.
After another four years and following September 11 effects on the city, Francesco decided to return to his beloved homeland and re-established himself in Milan where he begun to work in the editorial and advertising sector, collaborating with prestigious magazines (such as Vogue Italia, Vogue Japan , Vogue Gioiello, Vogue Accessori, Elle, L’Officiel, Bulgari Magazine, just to name a few) and for commercial clients such as Alessi, Amazon, Audi, Autogrill, Barilla, Bayer, Bmw, Bulgari, Carrera, Coca Cola, Diesel, Eni , Geox, Heineken, Ikea, Illy, Lavazza, Mc Donald’s, Pirelli, Samsung, San Pellegrino, Segafredo, Sky, Starbucks, Telecom, Tim, Vodafone, Yamaha among many others.
Lately he has had the opportunity to create his monographic Fanzine which was exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, thanks to Le Dictateur Studio.
Today he continues to love photography and life in general.
